This year, MAC is partnering with the Toronto International BuskerFest for Epilepsy to create a truly unique Eid Festival.
Since its inception in 2000, the Toronto International BuskerFest has featured hundreds of the best street performers from around the globe, hosted millions of amazed spectators and helped raise much-needed funds for Epilepsy Toronto. Now in its 18th year, the event is widely recognized as one of the best and biggest street performer festivals in the universe, and is the largest epilepsy awareness event in the world!
What is a “Busker”?
A busker, or street performer, is someone who entertains they public for gratuities. Comedians, musicians, magicians, fire performers, acrobats, aerial artists, clowns, daredevils and much more will be featured at this year’s BuskerFest; over 100 performers from around the globe!
Street performing is one of the most honest forms of entertainment – it allows you to watch the show, and then decide how much to pay for all that laughter and amazement.
What other entertainment allows you to do that? Each festival performer collects their own remunerations by passing a hat after their performance, and what’s collected by the performer goes directly to that performer. Epilepsy Toronto volunteers collects donations at the festival entrance/exits, and those donations go directly to the charity, and to helping the 1 in 100 people living with epilepsy in our community.
